Fall Color Trend: Emberglow

If red rouged lips blotted against a cotton candy cocktail napkin, you would have emberglow. The second color in Pantone‘s trend palette (and easily my very favorite of the season) must be crowned as a historical transitional mood-hue that remembers Summer but welcomes Fall. There were so many ‘flame’ and ‘hotkiss’ colors out and about at Fashion Week that it comes of no surprise that Pantone would pull from the masses a juicy take on classic red. This might be the easiest pigment to assimilate into closets everywhere (hence why I provide below a ridiculous amount of merchandise), but quite honestly, it’s the most fruitful, interactive hue in the bunch. Give it a whirl next time you’re in the hunt for Fall frocks or a make-up update – there are some ultra feminine face paints that will light up any dark knit or turtleneck the weather forces you to pull on.

Now introducing (drumroll please!), emberglow…

1. Twirled Sweetheart Dress $240, BHLDN // 2. Portable Art Platforms $488, Anthropologie // 3. Mac Lipglass in Emberglow $15, Nordstrom // 4. Autumn Rose Scarf $52, Madewell // 5. Mac Nail Lacquer in Malibu Peach $15, Nordstrom // 6. Silk Intermission Top $88, Madewell // 7. DVF Snake Belt $160, Shopbop.com // 8. Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Knapsack $188, Shopbop.com // 9. Theodora & Callum Fringed Scarf $48, Lane Knight // 10. Edie Purse $238, J.Crew //

On the verge of hot pink and melony fun, emberglow will draw some serious attention to any look, especially in the accessories department. I die for J.Crew’s new It Edie bag in their seasonal It color “flame” – a warmer side to emberglow but a definite companion to any other shocking shade of pink now worthy of wearing when the sun don’t shine. Not a big emberglow fan? There’s hope for you with Madewell‘s lightweight scarf that allows the look of subtle contrast and trendy intuition. I’m a huge fan of emberglow, and I can tell you now my first Fall piece will most likely be that scarf – it’s just perfect! What do you think?

Don’t fret followers, the pinks in this palette wont surrender yet! Honeysuckle is upon us…
