Super Bowl Shuffle

I’m the worst hostess in the world, and I have no problem admitting that. Not only am I unorganized when it comes to planning any sort of shindig, I also am famous for my cooking impediment that limits my dishes to about 3-4 ingredients and a maximum of 20 minutes for prep time – any more and my husband knows to alert the fire department in advance. So even though I willingly will admit to these fatal flaws, why the heck do I always think I can pull off a party at the last minute??

Looking at the brighter side of the situation, the last-minute party I’m planning is for the Super Bowl – not a bridal shower or any other female escapade the requires over-the-top accessories and baked goods and fruity drinks and crazy crafts and hilarious games, etc. etc. etc. Super Bowl parties really only require the three B’s: beer, BBQ, and big screen TVs. Once these B’s are retrieved and present, the dudes hardly notice if your table cloth is creatively football patterned or just plain white. Regardless, if you are also guilty of committing to a Super Bowl party with two days left to prepare, maybe these easily accessible goods will help you get ready for the big game.

1. Shiner Blonde $14.99, Local Supermarket // 2. New England Patriots Apron $29.95, Williams-Sonoma // 3. Plastic Serving Tray $6.99, Party City // 4. Football Pinata 14.99, Target // 5. Plastic Super Bowl XLVI Cups 8 Count $1.94, Party City // 6. Staub Oval Cocotte $199.95 – $250, Williams-Sonoma // 7. Helmet Cake Pan, $9.99, Michaels // 8. Ribs, Chops, Steaks & Wings Cookbook $19.95, Crate & Barrel // 9. Leal’s Hot Salsa $3.99, Local Supermarket

All of these items are purposely available at universal stores like Target and Williams-Sonoma; that way, no rush shipping is necessary – just rush driving out to your neighborhood favorites to pick up party supplies (just don’t get distracted at Anthropologie for too long, as I often tend to do….).

As for recipes? Thank goodness for Pinterest, because without it, I would be a sad, sad chef. Currently on menu are all the classics…
